Thursday highlights from the Giants' farm: Mark Minicozzi and Devin Harris each homered while reaching base three times, and Joe Kurrasch allowed just 1 R in 7.0 IP.  Also notable, John Polonius reached base in all four plate appearances.

AAA: Fresno defeated Las Vegas 9-4
(after leading 7-0 entering the 7th inning)

Fresno: CF Gary Brown: 3 for 6, 2B, CS
Fresno: LF Mark Minicozzi: 3 for 4, HR, BB
Las Vegas: CF Kirk Nieuwenhuis: 2 for 3, HR, HBP, GiDP

Fresno: SP Mike Kickham: 7.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K--1 HB, 1 WP

Minicozzi hit his 4th HR among three hits.  He had 5 RBIs.  Brown also had three hits, including his 9th double.  Brown entered the day hitting .254/.315/.360 through 236 AB.  The Mets' Nieuwenhuis hit his 8th HR while reaching base three times.

Kickham had one of his best starts this year, facing just four batters over the minimum in 7.0 scoreless IP.  He shaved half a run off his ERA to 4.10.

AA: Richmond defeated Trenton 8-5
(after scoring four runs in the 1st inning)

Richmond: SS Matt Duffy: 2 for 4, 3B, BB
Richmond: DH Mario Lisson: 2 for 5, HR
Richmond: RF Devin Harris: 2 for 3, HR, 2B, BB, SO

Richmond: SP Jack Snodgrass: 5.1 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K--1 HB

Harris and Lisson hit their 6th and 7th HRs this year.  Duffy had his 2nd triple, plus a single and a walk.  With multiple hits in six of his last seven games, he has improved his season line to .329/.387/.410 through 210 AB.

Snodgrass came up shy of a quality start but still improved his W-L record to 6-0.

A+: San Jose defeated High Desert 4-1
(scoring all four runs in the 4th inning)

San Jose: DH Matt Pare: 1 for 2, BB, SO

San Jose: SP Joe Kurrasch: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K--1 HR

Playing in his fourth game this year, Pare was one of just two Giants to reach base twice.

In six starts, Kurrasch has allowed more than 1 R just once.  He has a 1.64 over those starts, despite a K/BB ratio below 1.50 (16 K and 11 BB in 33.0 IP).  But he has held opposing hitters below the Mendoza line (.193 BAA).

A-: Augusta defeated Lexington 9-6
(after leading 6-3 entering the 4th inning)

Augusta: 2B John Polonius: 3 for 3, 2B, HBP, CS

Augusta: SP Carlos Diaz: 5.0 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 6 K--1 HR, 1 WP

Polonius's three hits, including his 2nd double, paced the GreenJackets' eleven-hit attack and raised his AVG to .214.

Diaz had his third straight start allowing 5+ R.  His ERA has risen to nearly 5.00.

DSL: Gigantes defeated Nationals 4-1

Dominican: CF Mikey Edie: 3 for 4, SB, CS
Dominican: SP Victor Concepcion: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

Edie's three singles raised his AVG to .300 (through 20 AB).  The 17-year-old Concepcion bounced back from his first start (6 ER in 2.0) with a solid performance.
