First Friday highlights from the Giants' farm: Kendry Flores allowed just 1 R in 7.0 IP (video), and Mark Minicozzi homered while reaching base four times.

Playing his second triple-A game, Minicozzi homered while reaching base four times.  Susac was one of two other Grizzlies with three hits.

Affeldt retired just one of seven batters in his rehab start.  He threw 33 pitches (18 strikes).  In long relief, Lively retired just half of his batters (10 of 20).  Runzler had 2 K in a perfect 7th inning.  The Mets' Syndergaard, one of the top 25 prospects in baseball, delivered a quality start in his PCL debut.  Last year he had 3.11 ERA in 12 Florida State League starts and a 3.00 ERA in 11 Eastern League starts.

AA: Richmond lost to New Britain 4-3

Richmond: 1B Angel Villalona: 2 for 4

Richmond: SP Clayton Blackburn: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K

Parker had his second straight two-hit game to begin the season.  Villalona joined Parker with two hits each.

Blackburn allowed just a single run in his upper minors debut.  He threw 70 pitches (46 strikes).

A+: San Jose defeated Rancho Cucamonga 3-2
(scoring all three runs in the 1st inning)

Blair and Delfino hit back-to-back HRs in the top of the 1st inning, scoring three runs before the game's first out.

Making his upper minors debut, Flores faced just four batters over the minimum in 7.0 IP.  The Dodgers' Beckett gave up three runs to start the game but no more runs thereafter.  The 17-year-old Urias, a top 100 prospect, delivered 4.0 scoreless IP in his Cal League debut.

A-: Augusta defeated Charleston 6-3

Bednar has five hits in his first two games, while the rest of the GreenJackets have combined for just seven hits.  Avelino, who is among the Yankees' top 15 prospects, reached base in all five plate appearances.

Ysla's control issues with 5 BB and 4 WP limited his full-season debut to 3.0 IP, but Lujan restored order with 4.0 scoreless IP in long relief.
