Previewing the Giants 40-Man Roster Decisions for this Offseason

Barring a lightning-quick re-signing, the Giants will have 39 players on their major league 40-Man Roster by Friday morning. By then, 5 players currently on the 40-Man roster will have become free agents and fall off the roster, and the 4 players currently on Injured Reserve will be automatically moved back onto the 40-Man.
The 5 free agents are: Morse, Peavy, Romo, Pablo, and Vogelsong.
The 4 Injured Reservists are: Adrianza, Cain, Hector Sanchez, and Scutaro.

I guarantee that Sabes will move to cut some of those 39 players in the days and weeks between now and the 2nd week of December - the deadline to protect players from the Rule 5 Draft (held on the last day of the Winter Meetings). At a bare minimum he'll need to free up at least 1 more 40-Man slot as he attempts to quickly re-sign/replace Pablo and Peavy. Here's my best-guess list of players that Sabes is likely to DFA or trade this offseason (ordered from most- to least-likely to be removed/traded:
Guillermo Quiroz, Travis Ishikawa, Chris Heston, J.C. Gutierrez, Jarrett Parker, AnVil, Brett Bochy, Chris Dominguez

IMO, Sabes will DFA or trade at least 4 guys on the current 40-Man at some point this offseason as he makes room for a starting 3B, a starting LF, and 2 candidates for the last 2 starting pitching spots. However, I think he's also very likely to remove a few more beyond those 4 as he moves to protect several of the newly 1st-time Rule 5 Draft eligible minor leaguers from the list below. At a minimum, I believe that Ray Black and Derek Law are no-brainers to be added to the 40-Man before the Rule 5 draft. I'd guess that Juan Gregorio has a slightly better than 50/50 chance of being added to the 40-Man, while Bryce Bandilla and Josh Osich each have less than a 50/50 chance of being added.

Below is the list of every current Giants minor leaguer who will be eligible in the Rule 5 Draft if thet aren't added to the major league roster before the Winter Meetings begin. The first grouping consists of all the players that will be eligible for the first time ever. The guys below the "==========" line have no chance of being put on the 40-Man this offseason, IMO.
