WE BRING YOU A ~~~~###***SPECIAL***###~~~~ REPORT FROM VENEZUELA. PABLO SANDOVAL, PLAYING BASEBALL FOR Navegantes del Magallanes APPEARS TO BE IN, IF NOT THE BEST SHAPE OF HIS LIFE, CLOSE TO THE BEST SHAPE OF HIS LIFE. MCCOVEY CHRONICLES HAS EXCLUSIVE GIFS FROM SANDOVAL'S GAME ON THURSDAY.
HERE SANDOVAL IS DIVING BACK TO A BASE:
AS YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE, PABLO SANDOVAL IS ...
You know, I can't see crap with those pictures.
But the important part is that thanks to a tip from an intrepid soul on Twitter, we have baseball. Honest-to-goodness baseball. Then the person deleted the tweet, which adds to the mystery! Maybe this is contraband and we're all going to be arrested.
It's worth it. Here's a grainy GIF of Pablo hitting an opposite-field double in the Gran Final -- the World Series of the Venezuelan league:
Here's the whole game if you want it:
Warning: Jose Castillo. Here's a nifty defensive play to end an inning:
And here's someone holding a gigantic ship at a baseball game:
The archives are right here, and that's where you should find the future games, too, but I'm having a devil of a time getting an exact schedule for future games. My French is awful, which could be part of the problem.
I think this is right Here's the official schedule from MLB.com:

Game 2: 01/24 7:30 p.m.
Game 3: 01/25 7:00 p.m.
Game 4: 01/26 7:00 p.m.

I would trade my cat for baseball right now. The cat also meows all night because he is awful, but the baseball gods don't know that, and the offer still stands. Luckily, I don't have to because there's Venezuelan baseball streaming online, and the Giants hitter I'm most interested in happens to be hitting in the middle of their lineup.
