Wednesday highlights from the Giants' farm: Adam Duvall and Jarrett Parker homered while combining for five hits.

AAA: Fresno had a scheduled off-day
(their lone scheduled off-day after the all-star break)

AA: Richmond defeated Portland 5-3
(scoring three runs in the 9th inning)

Richmond: 3B Adam Duvall: 2 for 4, HR, 2B
Richmond: RF Jarrett Parker: 3 for 4, HR

Richmond: SP Chris Gloor: 7.0 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K
Richmond: RP Cody Hall: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Duvall and Parker went back-to-back in the 9th inning. Duvall's 13th HR turned a one-run deficit into a one-run lead, and Parker's 14th HR provided an insurance run. They combined for five of the Flying Squirrels' nine hits.

Gloor delivered his third straight quality start. He has a 3.39 ERA after 22 starts. Only one other pitcher has more starts in the Eastern League this year, and his ERA ranks seventh best. Hall pitched a perfect 9th inning. He has 6 saves in twelve appearance since his promotion.

A+: San Jose lost to Visalia 3-2

San Jose: RF Mac Williamson: 2 for 4, 2B

San Jose: SP Clayton Blackburn: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K--1 HR
San Jose: RP Derek Law: 1.0 IP, 1 K

With his 23rd double and a single, Williamson was the lone Giant to reach base twice. After being so hot in July, this was just his second multi-hit performance in his last nine games.

Blackburn yielded three unearned runs in the 5th inning, which were enough to drop his W-L record 7-5. He has allowed just 6 ER but 14 R overall over his last six starts. Law pitched a perfect 8th inning.

A-: Augusta defeated Rome 7-6

Augusta: 1B Joseph Rapp: 2 for 3, 2B, BB, SO, SB, E

Augusta: SP Edward Concepcion: 3.2 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 3 K--1 WP

Rapp had his 14th double, a single and a walk to reach base three times. His .638 OPS through 265 AB this year is .200 points lower than his .839 OPS last summer in 239 AB.

Concepcion made just his fifth appearance this year. His 3.2 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER and 3 K were all new season highs.

ssA: Salem-Keizer had the final day of its three-day all-star break

R: Giants defeated Reds 4-2

Scottsdale: 1B Jonathan Jones: 1 for 3, 2B, BB
Scottsdale: C John Riley: 1 for 3, BB, SO, E

Scottsdale: SP Alejandro Flores: 3.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K--2 WP
Scottsdale: RP Dusten Knight: 1.0 IP, 2 K

Jones and Riley were two of four rookie Giants to reach base twice.

Flores made his second start after six relief appearances. Knight pitched a perfect 9th inning for his 1st pro save.

DSL: Gigantes lost to Reds 8-5

Dominican: DH Nicol Parra: 1 for 4, 2B, BB, SO
Dominican: SP Raffi Vizcaino: 4.1 IP, 12 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 0 BB, 2 K--1 WP

Parra (19.0 y.o.) had just his 3rd XBH among 98 AB. Vizcaino (17.8 y.o.), allowing hits to half (12 of 24) his batters, more than doubled his previous season high of 5 H. He also quadrupled his previous season high of 2 ER.
