Monday highlights from the Giants' farm: Mike Kickham had 6.0 scoreless IP, and Shawn Payne homered while reaching base four times.

AAA: Fresno defeated Albuquerque 2-0

Fresno: SP Mike Kickham: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K
Fresno: RP George Kontos: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Perez and Peguero each had two of the Grizzlies' seven hits, improving both of their AVGs to .313.

In his 21st start this year, Kickham allowed no runs for just the second time. His PCL ERA remains above 4.75. Kontos pitched a perfect 9th inning for his 3rd save.

AA: RIchmond had their second of three straight Monday off-days

A+: San Jose lost to Visalia 10-6

San Jose: DH Brock Bond: 2 for 5, HR
San Jose: 2B Bobby Haney: 1 for 3, HR, BB

San Jose: SP Kyle Crick: 5.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 5 BB, 5 K--1 WP
San Jose: RP Jeff Soptic: 1.0 IP, 3 K

Haney and Bond went back-to-back in the 4th inning, both with their 3rd HR.

Crick had one of his less effective starts, issuing 5 BB for the third time in his last five starts. For the year he has a 0.63 BB/IP ratio (32 BB in 50.2 IP). Soptic struck out all three of his batters in a perfect 8th inning--a bright spot in a season with an ERA over 6.00.

A-: Augusta defeated Rome 7-4
(scoring six runs in the 6th inning)

Payne hit his 3rd HR this year while reaching base four times. Robles had four singles to also reach base four times, raising his AVG to nearly .300. Turner added three hits.

Allowing more than two baserunners per inning, Biagini came up shy of a quality start. He has an ERA over 6.00 in seven starts since the SAL all-star break.

ssA: Salem-Keizer had the first day of their three-day all-star break

R: Giants defeated Padres 16-1

Arroyo reached base five times but also committed his 5th and 6th errors. He has hit .292/.371/.451 through 113 AB. Riley, after just one hit in his first eight pro games, reached base in three of four plate appearances with his first pro XBH, a single and a walk.

Snelton matched a career-high with 6 K striking out one of third of his (eighteen) batters. Jones, in his eleventh pro appearance, pitched a perfect 8th inning.

DSL: The Gigantes had a scheduled off-day

DSL (yesterday): Gigantes defeated Twins 4-3

Dominican: LF Jean Angomas: 3 for 4, CS
Dominican: SP Jonathan Loaisiga: 5.0 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 1 K

Angomas's (18.1 y.o.) three singles raised his AVG to .266. Loaisiga (18.9 y.o.) allowed less than 2 ER for just the second time in his last seven starts. He has a 3.38 ERA after ten starts.
