I mean, come on, how bad does this look? Grant must write 500 articles a year on baseball with over half of them devoted to the Giants. He has legions of adoring(ly sarcastic) readers, a rapier wit, and is known by every beat writer in San Francisco. He's up and coming yet he goes to what, a handful of games a year?
This seems like the sort of thing that an annual Kickstarter fund should be able to handle. Rewards would be dead simple. Based on the amount you give to the campaign, you get use of the tickets for a select number of games. Maybe Grant can do something embarrassing like sign a baseball previously signed by Miguel Cabrerra. I don't know...
It's embarrassing, however, that we haven't done something like this for our fearless leader yet. At the very least, we can listen to him whine about being forced to take Caltrain to 50 games a year in 2014.
The hard part is buying the charter license so the more we can raise, the better the quality (and number) of seats. After that it's just a matter of annually re-upping the license. Here's what's available:
Who would be in on this terrible idea?
