Fresno: RP Brett Bochy: 2.0 IP, 3 K
Sacramento: SP Sonny Gray: 7.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 9 K

Kieschnick was the lone Grizzly with two hits. He has hit .265/.330/.489 through 309 AB.

Lively had a very good start but allowed the game's only run in the 1st inning. Bochy had 3 K in 2.0 IP perfect IP. Gray has emerged as likely the Athletics' best pitching prospect. With 7.0 scoreless IP, he improved his ERA to 2.81, taking over the lead in the PCL. His components stats of 96 H, 34 BB and 107 K in 102.1 IP are consistent with his excellent ERA.

Richmond: SP Taylor Rogers: 4.2 IP, 5 H, 6 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K

Rogers allowed 5+ R for the fourth time in his last five starts.

Oropesa and Lofton both reached base three times for the Giants. With four multi-hit games, Oropesa is 9 for 17 since his demotion. Bond hit his 2nd HR.

At least from a statistical perspective, Mejia had one of his best starts this year, matching season highs of 6.0 IP and 7 K while allowing just a single run. In three starts since coming off the DL, he has 12 H, 5 BB and 16 K in 15.1 IP. Forjet, the final of three Giants' relievers, had 3 K in 1.1 perfect IP.

Augusta: LF Andrew Cain: 1 for 4, 3B, SO

Augusta: SP Joan Gregorio: 6.2 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K--1 HR, 1 WP

Cain's 3rd triple was one of just five hits for the GreenJackets, for whom no one reached base twice.

After a 1.74 ERA in his six starts before the all-star break, Gregorio scuffled in his first two starts after the break with 11 ER in 10.0 IP. Tonight he rebounded more to form with a quality start--his fifth quality start among nine starts this year. This was his longest start this year.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Everett 8-5

Salem-Keizer: DH Ryan Honeycutt: 2 for 4, HR, BB
Salem-Keizer: 2B Ryan Jones: 3 for 5, SO, SB, E

Honeycutt, who is in his fourth pro season, hit his 1st HR while reaching base three times. Jones' three singles raised his AVG to .457 through eleven games. The Volcanoes' offense with 8 R on 11 H was better than their defense, which committed 7 errors. Peterson, the Mariners' first round pick last month, had four hits, although his AVG remains below .250.

Johnson has now allowed 4 R in two of his five starts and no runs in the other three starts. Shadle, who is in his fourth pro season, had 3 K while pitching perfect 6th and 7th innings.
