Friday highlights from the Giants' farm: Javier Herrera and Andrew Susac both homered while reaching base three times.

AAA: Fresno defeated Salt Lake 9-6

Fresno: 2B Cole Gillespie: 4 for 5, SB, E
Fresno: 3B Chris Dominguez: 4 for 5, SO, PO
Salt Lake: RF Collin Cowgill: 4 for 5, HR, 2B

Fresno: SP Yusmeiro Petit: 4.1 IP, 10 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 2 K--1 HR

Gillespie and Dominguez each had four of the Grizzlies' nineteen hits, raising their AVGs to .286 and .283. Brown led off the bottom of the 1st inning with his 11th HR. He has already surpassed his 7 HRs from a year ago and is approaching his career-high 14 HRs from two years ago. Cowgill, playing his first game in the Angels' organization, after being designated for assignment by the Mets and traded to the Angels, homered and doubled among four hits.

Making his first PCL start in nearly two months, Petit allowed nearly half (12 of 25) his batters to reach base. His ERA rose above 7.00 after eight starts.

AA: Richmond lost to Erie 10-9

Richmond: 1B Ricky Oropesa: 1 for 5, HR
Richmond: C Andrew Susac: 1 for 3, HR, 2 BB

Richmond: SP Carlos Teller: 4.1 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 4 K--2 HB

In the 2nd inning, Oropesa and Susac went back-to-back with their 6th and 10th HRs. In the 6th inning, Herrera and Panik went back-to-back with their 10th and 3rd HRs.

For the third time in nine starts, Teller allowed 5+ ER. In his other six starts, he has allowed just 2 ER total.

A+: San Jose lost to Stockton 8-6
(allowing all eight runs in the 6th inning)

San Jose: RF Mac Williamson: 2 for 4, HBP, SO
San Jose: LF Devin Harris: 2 for 5, 2 2B, SO

San Jose: SP Adalberto Mejia: 5.1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

Among three Giants with two hits each, Williamson reached base three times, and Harris hit his 19th and 20th doubles.

Mejia began the game with 5.1 scoreless IP but then did allowed his final three batters to reach base in the 6th inning. He finished the evening with a 4.01 ERA.

A-: Augusta defeated Asheville 10-5

Augusta: 3B Shayne Houck: 2 for 5, HR, 2 SO, E
Augusta: DH Stephen Branca: 2 for 5, HR, 2B, SO

Augusta: SP Joan Gregorio: 5.0 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 6 K--2 HR

Houck and Branca hit their 2nd and 1st HRs.

After allowing just 4 R over his first five starts, Gregorio has allowed 15 R over his last three starts. His ERA has risen to 3.73.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Hillsboro 10-4

Salem-Keizer: SP Reyes Moronta: 2.2 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 1 K--1 HR, 1 HB, 1 BK
Salem-Keizer: RP Lorenzo Mendoza: 4.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

Honeycutt and Jones combined for half of the Volcanoes' fourteen hits. In limited playing time (5 and 6 games), they have .294 and .563 AVGs.

Moronta's third start was his shortest so far. Mendoza provided long relief pitching the 5th through the 8th innings.

R: Giants defeated Diamondbacks 5-1

Scottsdale: 3B Ryder Jones: 2 for 3, 2B
Scottsdale 2B Rando Moreno: 2 for 3, BB, SB, CS

Scottsdale: SP Luis Pino: 3.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER 1 BB, 5 K--1 BK

Jones, the Giants' second round selection earlier this month, doubled and singled in his pro debut. Moreno, one of two other rookie Giants with two hits, reached base three times.

Making his first start after one relief appearance, Pino struck out nearly half (5 of 11) of his batters.
