Mothers Day highlight from the Giants' farm: Chris Gloor had 6.2 scoreless IP. Also notable, Chris Dominguez homered in a multi-hit effort.

AAA: Fresno defeated Memphis 7-4 (11 innings)

Fresno: CF Gary Brown: 3 for 6, 2B, 2 O
Fresno: 3B Chris Dominguez: 2 for 5, HR, SO
Memphis: 2B Kolton Wong: 3 for 5, 2B

Fresno: SP Shane Loux: 5.0 IP, 9 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K--1 WP
Fresno: RP Ramon Ramirez: 2.0 IP, 4 K
Fresno: RP Jean Machi: 2.0 IP, 1 H, 3 K
Fresno: RP Heath Hembree: 1.0 IP, 1 K

Brown's three hits, including his 9th double, paced the Grizzlies' thirteen-hit attack and raised his OPS above .600 (after 150 AB). Dominguez's 5th HR was the Grizzlies' only other XBH. The Cardinals' Wong, who is among the top 100 prospects in the minors, paced the Redbirds' offense with three hits.

Loux allowed a season-high 9 H, raising his BAA above .250, but kept the damage limited to 3 R. Ramirez, Machi and Hembree combined for 8 K in 5.0 IP, while allowing just one batter to reach base.

AA: Richmond lost to Altoona 2-1
(allowing the tying run in the 8th inning and the winning run in the 9th inning)

Richmond: LF Javier Herrera: 1 for 3, BB, SO
Richmond: 3B Mark Minicozzi: 1 for 3, BB, 2 SO
Altoona: 2B Neil Walker: 2 for 3, BB

Richmond: SP Chris Gloor: 6.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
Altoona: SP Jameson Taillon: 6.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 8 K--1 WP

The Flying Squirrels managed just two hits, both singles, one each by Herrera and Minicozzi. The Pirates' Walker, playing in his fourth rehab game, had two of the Curve's five hits.

Gloor and Taillon, one of the top fifteen prospects in the minors, combined for the pitchers' duel, with neither allowing a run. For Gloor, it was his best start of the season. Taillon had his second highest strikeout total this year. Both threw close to 100 pitches. The 21-year-old Taillon now has peripheral stats of 39 H, 16 BB and 47 K in 44.2 IP through eight starts.

A+: San Jose lost to High Desert 6-0
(after allowing four runs in the 1st inning)

San Jose: C Jeff Arnold: 1 for 3

San Jose: SP Clayton Blackburn: 4.0 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 4 K--1 HB
San Jose: RP Bryce Bandilla: 1.0 IP, 1 K

While no one reached base twice for the Giants, Arnold had one of their four hits (all singles).

Blackburn had his least effective start this year as 5 ER and 4 BB were both new season highs and 4.0 IP a new season low. His ERA rose to 3.65. Bandilla inherited the bases loaded with no outs in the 9th inning but stranded all three runners after striking out the first batter and inducing an inning-ending double play ground ball from his second batter.

A-: Augusta defeated Greenville 10-6
(taking an 8-5 lead into the bottom of the 4th inning)

Augusta: CF Jesus Galindo: 2 for 3, 2B, 2 BB, 4 SB
Augusta: 1B Joseph Rapp: 3 for 4, 2 2B, SF, SO
Augusta: C Eric Sim: 1 for 4, HR, SO

Augusta: RP Mason McVay: 4.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 K--1 HB

Playing just his third game this year and first game in over five weeks, Rapp had three hits, including his first two XBH, to pace the GreenJackets' twelve-hit attack. Galindo remains hot, reaching base four times. Over his last seven games, he has hit 9 for 22 with 4 XBH, 9 BB and 8 SB. After a .333 OBP last year, his OBP is just shy of .400 in his second Sally League season. In the 4th inning, Sims on Jones connected for their 2nd and 1st HRs.

Making his sixth start, Reyes retired just one of six batters and matched a season-high with 4 ER. For the second time this week, Farley and McVay provided strong long relief, this time combining for just 2 R in 7.2 IP.
