minor lines, 4/19/13

Most notable Friday lines from the Giants' farm: Yusmeiro Petit had 13 K in 6.0 IP, and Ty Blach allowed just 1 ER in 6.0 IP.

AAA: Fresno lost to Tacoma 4-2
(after allowing 3 runs in the 1st inning)

Fresno: CF Gary Brown: 1 for 2, 2 BB, SB
Fresno: 3B Chris Dominguez: 2 for 4, 3B
Tacoma: RF Eric Thames: 2 for 4, HR, 2B, SO

Fresno: SP Yusmeiro Petit: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 0 BB, 13 K--2 HR
Tacoma: SP Danny Hultzen: 6.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K--1 WP

Dominguez was the lone Grizzly with two hits, and his 2nd triple was their lone XBH. Brown reached base three times and had his 1st SB this year. Thames, who has had over 270 AB in the majors each of the last two years, had his 3rd HR and 3rd double.

Petit had the odd line, striking out over half (13 of 23) his batters but yielding 4 ER. Hultzen, who is perhaps the Mariners' top pitching prospect, had a quality start for the win. After surprisingly struggling with his walk rate last year, so far he has just 6 BB in 22.2 IP over four starts this year.

AA: Richmond hosting Reading postponed by rain
(A makeup doubleheader was scheduled for Saturday.)

A+: San Jose lost to Inland Empire 7-1
(after trailing 2-1 entering the 7th inning)

San Jose: 3B Myles Schroder: 1 for 3, 2B, BB
San Jose: C Jeff Arnold: 2 for 4, SO

San Jose: SP Ty Blach: 6.0 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
San Jose: RP Carlos Teller: 0.0 IP, 1 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB

Arnold had the Giants' lone multi-hit line, and Schroder had the Giants' lone walk.

Making the third strart of his pro career, Blach had a career-high 8 H and career-low 2 K but still came through with the quality start. He had a 9/4 GO/FO line. Teller did not retire any of his five batters.

A-: Augusta hosting Kannapolis postponed by rain
