San Jose Giants FanFest + continuing Spring Training prospects discussion, etc.

I went to San Jose Giants FanFest today, and had so much fun as I knew I would. I got to go early for a season-ticket holder special introduction press conference thing which was cool, too! I knew Bobby Evans was going to be there, so I printed out a couple pages of players' names I wanted to ask about, and questions that you all had given me. At the end of the press conference thing, there was a chance to ask the panel questions. I have it on video which I'll upload shortly. It was really cute, kids asking Kyle Crick and Clayton Blackburn when they started playing, stuff like that.

At one point in the middle of the Q&A, Juliana Paoli (the SJ Giants Chief Marketing Officer, who was standing off to the side) suddenly called out my name and asked if I had a question. I guess she saw the clipboard I had taken out that had my list of questions to ask Bobby Evans later or something? But none of those were really appropriate for a San Jose Giants Q&A. So I did think up one question really quick which was a variation of quincy's question about college RP to SP, and I asked Bobby how they decide someone like Chris Marlowe or Bryce Bandilla should be converted to starter or stay as a reliever. Then there was like one more question and then the event ended, and people cleared out so they could set up for the player meet & greet.

I walked up to Bobby Evans with my clipboard and asked if I could ask him some questions about some players I was wondering about. I got through the first few players on the list, and started asking him about the DSL players that came over this season, but he wasn't really sure. He kept saying he thought there were only 7 players that came over, and I said I saw 12 of them and started naming off all the guys I saw. He pulled a piece of paper out of his jacket pocket that looked like an organizational depth chart (it looked like it had an outline of a field on it and a bunch of names grouped together on it) but then Baron Von Current events came over with her fancy press pass and recorder and asked if she could ask him a quick question for Bay City Ball. I apologized for taking up so much time with all of my questions, and Juliana (who might have been with BVCE or maybe she was just walking past) said, "This is Lauren, she's a really die-hard fan!" And Bobby said something like, "Oh yeah, I know. I see her all the time." BVCE asked her quick question and left, and then Bobby told me he couldn't name the players off the top of his head and they weren't on his paper. So he gave me his card! He said I could send him an email with all my questions, or even call him or send him a text. It was so cool!!!! I definitely think I'm just going to email him, though.

Anyway, continue prospect discussion here! I'll post more FanFest stories/info in the comments. Kristin has pictures, but I think maybe we should use a different thread for the pictures so it doesn't slow down all our browsers? Or just use links? I dunno.
