Inspired by a discussion with Roger on one of the prospect threads a couple weeks ago, I'm curious to see what other McCoven think of one of America's great treasures. In these rankings, I include any place that's managed by the National Park Service (including National Battlefields, National Monuments like Muir Woods, etc.).
Here's my ranking of top five parks which I've personally visited:
3. City of Rocks (Idaho)
5. Grand Teton
and the top five parks I haven't seen yet, but badly want to (this could have been a top-20 list, there are a lot of places I want to see):
1. Zion (have to hike Angel's Landing and the Narrows)
2. Grand Canyon (I've been there once, but it was only for a few hours at the South Rim with no time for any exploration. Hopefully I'll be able to afford a raft tour of the canyon someday soon).
3. Sequoia-Kings Canyon
4. North Cascades
5. Rocky Mountain
and for good measure, a couple parks I've been to and would not be disappointed if I never return:Great Smoky Mountains and Death Valley.
Curious about everyone else's favorites!
