Monday highlight from the Giants' farm: Chuckie Jones homered and doubled.

AAA: Fresno defeated Memphis 2-1 (10 innings)

Fresno: SS Emmanuel Burriss: 1 for 4, BB, SB
Fresno: 1B Xavier Nady: 1 for 4, HR
Memphis: 2B-RF Eugenio Velez: 2 for 4, SB

Fresno: SP Boof Bonser: 4.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 1 K

Nady homered in his second game since joining the Giants organization. Burriss was one of three Grizzlies to reach base twice. Velez, the ex-Giant now in the Cardinals organizations, was one of two players in the game with two hits.

After four relief appearances, Bonser made his first start for the Grizzlies and delivered 4.0 scoreless IP, although he threw just half (30 of 60) of his pitches for strikes.

AA: Richmond had an off-day

A-: Augusta lost to Charleston 4-3 (14 innings)

Augusta: LF Brett Krill: 3 for 6, 2B, SO

Augusta: SP Clayton Blackburn: 7.0 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 7 K--1 E

Krill's three hits, including his 21st double, raised his AVG to .281, which is the second highest AVG on the team.

Blackburn allowed more than 2 R for the first time in his last six starts. Still, in his six starts since the end of June, he has 38 K and 3 BB in 38.0 IP with an ERA below 2.00. He has perhaps four more starts this year and appears to be finishing the season strong.

ssA: Salem-Keizer defeated Spokane 4-2

Salem-Keizer: SP Joan Gregorio: 5.0 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K--1 WP

Jones' 4th HR and 8th double raised his OPS to an even .700. Branca was one of two other Volancoes with two hits.

After allowing at least 3 ER in each of his previous five starts, Gregorio allowed just 1 ER in this start, having his best start, at least statistically, in a month.

R: Giants lost to AthleticCCs 14-7

Scottsdale: SS John Polonius: 2 for 3, BB, HBP
Scottsdale: LF Shilo McCall: 2 for 4, BB, 2 SO, E

Scottsdale: SP Andrew Leenhouts: 2.0 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 2 K--1 WP

Polonius reached base four times, raising his OBP above .400. McCall reached base three times, keeping his OBP above .350.

Leenhouts had allowed just 2 ER over his previous three starts but allowed 2 ER in the 1st inning and then 3 ER in the 2nd inning, raising his ERA to nearly 5.50. He was followed by six relievers who each pitched an inning.

Dominican: 3B Hengerber Medina: 1 for 4, 2 BB, E
Dominican: SP Carlos Diaz: 7.2 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 K--3 WP

Medina (17.9 y.o.) reached base three times, although he also committed his 8th error in 27 games. Diaz (18.8 y.o.) made his longest start of the year and did not allow an earned run for the third time in his last four starts.
