Resigning Angel Pagan?

I always assumed that we would resign Melky and let Angel walk for a draft pic. Last weeks actions have changed that. Gary Brown looks to need another year in the minors. Should the Giants resign Angel for a multi year contract? Let's say 3 years @ 7.5, 8.5 and 10 Mil?

I am not up on the current MLB compensation pics. I know you have to have a player all season to receive a pic but does it come from the club that signs an A level? I assume that someone will sign Melky but at a low rate than he would have had pre testosterone outing. If he is not signed by Spring Training do the G-men still get a pic? Is there a supplemental round for all and A B and C level free agents? I am sure that the info is out there but it never seemed to matter much before last week. Thanks.
