Saturday highlights from the Giants farm: Chris Heston had 7.0 scoreless IP, Johnny Monell homered and singled, Ryan Bradley allowed just 1 ER in 6.0 IP, and Brett Krill reached base in all five plate appearances.

AAA: Fresno defeated Tucson 5-3

Drawing the Grizzlies' only walk, Lollis reached base three times. Noonan was one of three other Grizzlies with two hits, although he also committed his 21st error.

Making his second spot start of the year, Rodriguez went 4.0 IP, while throwing 61 pitches (34 strikes). Runzler, the third of five Grizzlies relievers, pitched a perfect 7th inning.

AA: Richmond defeated Binghamton 4-0

Richmond: SP Chris Heston: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 6 K

Monell had his 9th HR. Heston, who has a .235 AVG, had the Flying Squirrels' only other XBH.

Apparently back on track, Heston had another very strong start, facing just four batters over the minimum in 7.0 scoreless IP. He lowered his ERA to 2.08.

A+: San Jose defeated Stockton 5-3

San Jose: SS Joe Panik: 3 for 4, BB
San Jose: CF Jarrett Parker: 0 for 1, 3 BB, SB

San Jose: SP Ryan Bradley: 6.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K--1 HB

Panik reached base four times, raising his OBP to .368. Parker also reached base three times and had his 25th SB.

Bradley had his first quality start in four starts this month.

A-: Augusta defeated Charleston 7-6
(rallying for five runs in the 8th inning)

Augusta: SS Kelby Tomlinson: 3 for 5

Augusta: SP Danny Sandbrink: 4.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

Krill and Tomlinson each had three of the GreenJackets' thirteen hits. After reaching base in all five plate appearances, Krill has a line of .374/.427/.505 in 182 since the all-star break.

After making twelve appearances, including three starts, for San Jose, Sandbrink made his Sally League debut with a 4.0 IP start.

ssA: Salem-Keizer lost to Eugene 3-2

Salem-Keizer: 2B Ryan Jones: 2 for 4, 2B

Salem-Keizer: SP Cameron Lamb: 3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

Jones had the Volcanoes' lone multi-hit line. With two hits in five of his last seven games, he has raised his AVG to .238.

After nine relief appearances this summer, Lamb made his first start with 3.0 scoreless IP.

R: Scottsdale had its regular off-day (every fifth day)

DSL: Giants defeated Phillies 11-1

Dominican: RF Carlos Cartagena: 3 for 4, 2B, SB
Dominican: SP Eber Guzman: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K--1 HB, 2 WP

Playing in just his eighteenth game, Cartagena (18.7 y.o.) had three hits, but his AVG remains below .200 through 53 AB. Guzman (19.4 y.o.) had perhaps his best start of the year.
