Already announced and still true is that a diverse group of us will gather on the walkway along the Cove next to the park and we will distribute Alex Lewis' ashes into the water. This will happen at about 9:30 on Sunday, July 8. I'm sure I'll made the scene at about 9. If you've never met me, look instead for the 2010 championship banner that I will attach to an 8 ft. pole to mark the spot, I reckon about halfway down the walk, away from the ferries. No game that day, so the traffic will be light.
No priests will speak, though the laity is encouraged to do so. No roll will be taken. We are unlikely to be arrested. If there is trouble, just back off and let Gallo del Cielo handle it.
I picked up the ashes on Monday. They went with me to Trivia that night and provide the new name for the team that I had not brought for several months. Coincidentally, we did very well. At DeVere's in downtown Sac every Monday we are currently known as Alex's Ashes.
At about 10 am, we'll head to a restaurant/bar known as The 21st Amendment. It's back up 2nd St. about 2 blocks from the stadium. Food and drink and toasts. I've spoken to the management, and they will be happy to give us the mezzanine pub and even open a little early if we arrive. The Giants game starts about 10:30 and there's plenty of HD all around us. Alex's mother will be there, many of his Folsom friends, some ex and current girlfriends, many of your favorite McCovens, and probably some people no one actually knows.
I look forward to seeing all of you. Parking on Byron and Townsend is usually free on Sundays with no game. The lots are cheap too. If you can't make it to the distribution itself, see you at the Amendment. We'll be upstairs.
