Pence is locked up for one more year - so he's not a rental. He is, I believe, a significant upgrade offensively to anything the Giants have in Center or Right. As long as (1) Brown isn't in a deal and (2) it does not affect their ability to sign Cabrerra, I fail to see a downside here.

I suspect Nate would be part of any such trade. The question is, of course, who else. Maybe one of the catchers. Maybe Panik. Maybe even Hembree although i know he's hurt right now.

I think the Giants realize that the Dodgers are going to continue to add. Ramirez is a game changer. And who knows when Pablo comes back. They need someone that can hit with some power. Pence fills that bill. Plus he can run and he's a solid right fielder.

I hope it gets done. But please, don't incloude Brown.
