So a few months back when the Giants came east, I complained about a game that ended slightly past normal for a west coast game and whined about the sleep deprivation of an east coast devotee of a west coast baseball team. So last night starts with a rain delay, and then I felt tired and tried to sleep but kept turning back to the game as Ryan "pitch with a chip on my shoulder due to waiting until middle age to realize how good I can be if I trust my stuff" Vogelsong and some guy who only looks like Cy Young when the Giants are in town, match pitching brilliance agaisnt pitching brilliance. I opened my eyes to a replay of an Arias triple, having turned the tv off in disgust when Gregor Blanco decided not to steal and a double play took our best offensive chance away...(ok i turned it back on quickly enough to see romo and javier in the bottom of the ninth). I was thoroughly convinced that the spots 1, 2, 4, 7, 8 and 9 could not manage a single hit between them and that every Braves hitter was destined to keep a series win in play.... I saw the put away rally turned into a 2 run rally and I stressed, knowing Santiago was coming and not having fully recovered from Liriano trade and the Armando era....he looked pretty good early but I clicked the remote off button as McCann's drive hit the stands. I just had to sleep. But i couldn't of course, so i turn it back on a bit later and Chipper has just hit a home run, I can't find my glasses in the dark and it looks like the Braves are not celebrating a walk off...I find my cheaters and see a 3-4 become a 9-4 and I realize I missed a 6 run rally! Torture! That was enough to keep me up for the rest of the night.
