I'm sure there are others like this, but this one is from the Diamondbacks prospective. They had 2 picks in the 2009 draft, where ultimately Trout was picked 25th overall. Having seen him play a few times now, I have to say he is very impressive. Money quote: "Across baseball, when he was leaving high school, if you would have asked will he hit, won’t he hit or might he hit, probably more than 75 percent of teams would have said he won’t or he might," said a former Diamondbacks scout. "Only a couple of teams would have said he will hit." Comment starter: this is the home run draft pick every team hopes for, is this just grabbing a great athlete and hoping like hell for the hit tool to drop, or is more at work?
