I have been in email contact with Alex's employers. And here is the information:
...we would like to thank you for your interest in participating in the effort. We had hoped that others would be inspired.
[We], have committed to form an annual scholarship fund in Alex’s name, and to contribute 5% of our firm’s net profit going forward. We haven’t hammered out all of the details, but we intend to identify a worthy High School senior (or seniors if funds are available) from the Northern California area who is interested in pursuing a degree in creative writing.
We will be establishing a foundation or 501c3 non-profit. It will take some time to set up. In the meantime, if anyone is interested in contributing to the cause they can send a check made out to the Alex J. Lewis Scholarship Fund to our office at the address below. We will aggregate the funds into a Trust account at Chase bank pending establishment of the permanent entity.
Again, thank you for your interest, and please feel free to forward this email to all interested parties.
