Hey guys,

I've been a very sporadic poster here but I read MCC and hover the blog frequently. I am a high school senior, and have a week at my school next week reserved for school organized community engagement and outdoors trips and the like. Somehow I convinced the dean of students (an avid sports fan) at my school to approve a spring training trip with two friends for the week instead. In order to get this passed we are doing a blog on the Giants spring training practices and games we see. We will be heading down to AZ on Monday the 27th and staying thru March 5th, giving us 7 days of days to get a feel for our beloved 2012 Giants. We hope to give some snippets of things we see, whether its scouting some of the prospects in camp, sharing some cool stories, or giving our thoughts on how everything is going. We also were able to get media passes for Tuesday the 28th so we can maybe get some cool stuff for the blog that day. The blog will be available at http://giantsspringtraining.blogspot.com/ and I hope to see you all there. Look for a blog post to go up Monday or Tuesday at the latest next week from always glorious Scottsdale, Arizona!

Which parks are you seeing?

I’d recommend the White Sox/ Dodger park out in Glendale, though it is a bit of a drive. And I’ve had nothing but great experiences out in Maryvale.

The Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will just be at Scottsdale Stadium going to practices, and with the media pass on Tuesday that will be quite a cool day. Thursday is an intrasquad game day so that should be cool as well. Friday is A’s Mariners at the Oakland Municipal, Saturday Giants Dbacks at Scottsdale, Sunday Giants Dbacks at Talking Stick, and finally Monday is A’s Angels at Oakland Municipal in the morning and my first spring training night game at Scottsdale Stadium Monday night. Maryvale is great sad I won’t be there this year, and have heard great stuff about Glendale but unfortunately the Giants play there Tuesday and I’ll be driving back up to SanFran that day to get back to school and reality.

I’ll be at the A’s game on Friday, and won’t be at Scottsdale Stadium until the 7th. My tentative plan will cover all the ballparks except Hohokam and Tempe Diablo. Have a great time!
