Okay, what would it take? And are you willing to go there?
Sure there will be lots of suitors and, yes, the Angels are saying Mark Trumbo is staying put. But . . .
The Angels need pitching (starting and relief) and they need catching to make all their spending successful. Not that their pitching was bad, because in 2012 they had more Quality Starts than any other AL team and they were 3rd in Batting Average Against. But in the AL they were 8th of 14 in team ERA and giving up runs. They were 10th of 14 in saves. They were 10th of 14 in Ks. Sounds like they could use a strikeout reliever, especially with Madsen an unknown after his injury and only signed for a year. Could they covet Heath Hembree?
Weaver and Wilson are solid at the top of the rotation. After that it's question marks like Tommy Hanson or worse (remember Jerome Williams?) Would they want a Chris Heston who could be ready by mid season or (if we had to) Kyle Crick (who will take a little more seasoning)?
Finally, Chris ianetta is Chris Ianetta. Useful but not much more. Would the Angels like Hector Sanchez?
I'm guessing the Giants would have to toss in more -- maybe even Adam Duvall?
