Interview with RHP Alejandro Flores

After all the players had run away from the field to the bus because of the rain, including the ones who had promised me interviews, I dejectedly walked back toward the parking lot thinking my day there was done. But, Lo and Behold! Waiting out in the rain, right outside the door of the bus, was the game's winning pitcher, Alejandro Flores! :D I really wanted an interview with him, but I hadn't even gotten a chance to ask him for one! It was the best! I had already been tweeting him for a couple months, congratulating him on a couple good starts including his first win. I had told him that I was going to the DR and wanted to see him pitch, and I had actually asked him a couple days earlier who was pitching which days so I could schedule which game to go to. So I'm guessing he probably thought it was cool to meet this crazy fan that was following him from the U.S. already.

While transcribing this interview, I could not stop laughing. He seems more excited/nervous to be interviewed than even I was to interview him, and his facial expressions are THE BEST. I just love how he can't seem to stop smiling. And omg, the eyebrows. This was a fun one.

Enjoy!

I can't believe I forgot to tell you all that he told me that he's a converted infielder! Sorry! Where did my memory go that day?! But yay me, I did apparently hear what he said when he told me and actually asked a follow-up question for once! Woohoo! :) ...except that I never let him finish his original answer as to how he chose the Giants. Whoops.

I love how in the background you can see the other players getting on the bus, and at the end of the video you can see Gabriel just chilling waiting for me to finish.

I think I'll do my Michael Santos interview next. Although now I'm going back to the real world, so that might not be for awhile :( I've very much enjoyed the past week talking with you all on the prospect threads and I will miss you! Now, back to my hermit cave, see y'all again around Christmas! If you need anything, I'll be on Twitter :)
