down 0-2 heading to Cincy. No chance. Game 3. When I first heard Vogey was going to get the start I was a little surprised. The easy move would have been Tim. He is the two time Cy. Much less second guessing if he goes with him. But that isn't Bochy. The guy has a set on him. Going with Vogey and then working his way through that game with his masterful use of the pen. Move on to Zito. Had to give him the start. Deserved it. But was there with the quick hook when he needed it. And of course Tim rewarded him. Used Arias perfectly as well - with one of those double switches that are so often talkied about. Then yesterday. First, how many of us said start Arias?? Thas had to run through his mind. Crawford was o for the series. Arias scalding the ball. So he sticks with Crawford (reasoning I suspect that he want to pick and choose when to use Arias) and voila - Crawford gets it going. Did he stick with Cain too long. I sure as hell thought so. I ws screaming at the TV. Well, I guess Bruce was right. AGAIN. Then agin juggling through the pen - using them beautifully. I hated to see Lopez pitch to Bruce leading off the 9th - wanted to save him. But Bruce had no choice I after Affeldt and he was going to go with Romo no matter what. In 2010 Bochy was masterful in the playoffs. He was brilliant in the NLDS. I like the guy we have at the helm.
