Giants TV Commercial Casting: I'm in this thing!
So I just received this lovely email from the SF Giants Producers:
Dear James,
We would love to have you participate in the SF Giants TV commercials, shooting this week in San Francisco. A member of our "SF Giants Producer" team will reach out with more specific details. Note - you might be asked to be in more than one scene.
In the interim, if you are able to come to AT&T Park to be one of our stadium fans in large scenes involving players on the field, please RSVP to promotions@sfgiants.com and indicate the following in the subject header:
"I'm in for Thursday"
"I'm in for Friday"
"I'm in for Thursday and Friday"
We are excited to have you a part of the TV campaign this year and are thankful to have such amazing fans!
Sincerely,
SF Giants Producer Team
I may have screamed like a girl. May have. There were no witnesses.
Has anybody else applied and/or been chosen? I'm basically now trying to figure out how to get time off of work. I'm also wondering if going to the "large scene" shooting is mandatory to be in my own scene. I suppose I can always ask, because getting a day off for the large scene plus time off for whatever other scenes we are in...not sure if I can wing that. Anyway....I'm psyched! I guess my story of being a fan since birth and proposing to my fiancee on the field during FanFest 2011 won them over. :)

Do you like this story?

Yeah, I got that email, too. I did not squeal like a girl, but rather growled angrily because I just started a temp job today. I asked for Friday off, but then I re-read the email, and so hopefully any hypothetical “other scenes” I could be asked to be in can be filmed on Friday as well.
That said, I’d love to meet with any other McCoven at the stadium on Friday. Meet at the brick? (Assuming, that is, that I can find it.)

Yeah, it’s not really clear when these “other scenes” will be filmed when they say that the “large crowd scenes” will be shot on Thursday and Friday. I’m also not sure if I am the only one invited or if my fiancee can come too (she was obviously a big part of the story I sent as well as in the picture). I forwarded the whole email to my boss so we’ll see if she gives me both days. :)

I got it too!!! I’m too excited to be logical! What’s going on?? did we get picked to be in our own scene, or did they send that to everyone? I sent back that I could do friday, but I don’t want to miss the chance to be in one of the other scenes…..hm… Help please! :D

My guess is that we’ll get more info in the “more specific details” email. :) It is hard to not speculate, though. And the wording in the email is rather vague.

When I emailed the RSVP for Friday, I did ask for some more details about filming. I really don’t want to miss out on potentially being more than a body in the background. Hopefully I can get a reply sooner rather than later, in case I need to edit my day-off request (which I really don’t want to do; my temp agency is really good to me, and I feel guilty every time I ask for a day off). If I hear anything from the promotions office, I’ll let you guys know.

Does anybody even know what time we’re supposed to arrive at the park? I’ve got to come from Modesto, so I need to know when to leave…

you got the second e-mail? i rsvp’d but so far nothing has been sent :( i’m really worried that i won’t be in the commercial after all
No, I haven’t received the second email, but since I RSVP’d for Friday, I’m assuming that on Friday I’m going to need to be at the park.

I got the second email around 3:00pm today. We are to arrive at 9:00a at Seals Plaza at Marina Gate. I’m not sure why people who got the first email and RSVP’d wouldn’t get the second email. The message also includes a parking pass for those driving in.
So psyched!

I signed up for Thursday only. If you signed up for Friday my guess is that you’ll get your email tomorrow. If you didn’t get the second email…I don’t know, maybe you didn’t RSVP soon enough?

Okay, thanks! I’m gonna hope that I get my second email tomorrow. Otherwise I might cry. Just a little. And then go to Fan Fest and drown my frustrations in long lines and big crowds.

I guess I’ll wait for another email tomorrow. If I don’t get one, I might call the promotions office before I leave for work just to make sure. I don’t want to drive two hours just to get turned away for not having a second email. Thursday people, could you please let us Friday people know what happens?
