My GIFfin' is kind of hosed in the postseason, as I'm blacked out from MLB.tv, so I'm hoping this can be a dumping ground for whatever we can find. Let this be an archive of moving images in celebration of the National League pennant.
We all remember how it ended:
But there are other GIFs to celebrate. I'm going to miss a bunch, but that's where you fill in the gaps. With the help of SB Nation's GIF Zorro, Clay Wendler, here are five GIFs that stuck out to me from the NLCS.
5. SLOW-MO ROMO
The billion-frames-per-second camera couldn't get any cooler ... until there was rain added in. This was like a movie. That I'll watch 160 times before next week. Which I will.
4. LEAPIN' BRANDON CRAWFORD!
Every championship must go through a Molina. It is our destiny.
3. PENNY FOR YOUR THOUGHTS, BARRY ZITO, WAIT, I DIDN'T MEAN BRAD PENNY LOL
In which Barry Zito notices that David Freese is playing him like he's Miguel Cabrera with a runner on third.
The GIF of the actual bunt is cool, but Zito actually does a Clark Griswold-style "This is crazy, this is crazy, this is crazy" before going back to the box. I love this GIF so much.
2. HUNTER PENCE IS THE SECOND-WEIRDEST THING IN THIS GIF
I just can't stop watching this. It's perfect. It had to be Pence. If Buster Posey does it, it's cool. If Hunter Pence does it, it's found art.
Bonus coverage: The weird-ass spin the ball took:
1. MARCO SCUTARO NEEDS WATER TO LIVE, AS DO WE ALL
I've seen a dogpile on the mound. You've seen a dogpile on the mound. Grown men acting the fool, running around into each other. If it's your team, it doesn't get old.
But you know what I haven't seen? A player exulting to the heavens before the final out.
The sky is crying, Marco Scutaro. Probably because of something Matt Holliday did. My only regret is I can't get this GIF tattooed on each of my knuckles.
There are more. Fill in the gaps. Make this a pennant-winning GIF repository.
