It’d be great if Romo could come out of the bullpen. Too bad it’s not the 8th inning; gotta use the crappy relievers until then.

As I posted earlier today, I’m really struggling with the whole playoff thing. I don’t think I’m going to be horribly crushed if they don’t make the playoffs. They are tired. Pablo, and others, might need surgery. Maybe it would be better over the long term if the players have a chance to rest, recover and recuperate, so they can kick some ass next season.

I never want to see Chang again; he hasn’t been funny since the last episode of the first season. The whole air conditioning thing was just stupid. Abed’s plot was also stupid; he’s ceased to have any sort of emotional depth.

I watch the scene where Jeff attacked the table with an ax (WTF) and think back to the best episodes of Season 1 and it seems like a totally different show.

Very few of the characters did anything, really

It feels like they were trying to do something with Britta, but evidently that would have cut into Chang’s screen time, so it was abandoned. Troy was only there in relation to Abed, and since Abed did very little Troy did less. Annie said a few things to Jeff but that was basically it. I don’t think Shirley did anything at all.

Remember when they could fit three good plots into one episode? I miss that.

losing to the dodgers I guess pushed me over the top….

I doubt very much if Kemp's going to be in a Dodger uniform for significantly longer.

McCourt seems determined to stretch out his ownership of the team as long as possible, and:

1) he won’t be able to afford Kemp
2) Colletti has likely pissed off Kemp enough that he’ll want to leave as soon as he can, anyway
3) the stability situation is such that I expect most of the young players will likely try to bolt as soon as they can, if they’re not traded and replaced with AA kids first.

Has anyone ever naturally gotten 40/40? I know Canseco and Bonds did it deliberately. Arod? Was that just him playing ball or was it his goal?

by ecost on Sep 22, 2011 9:59 PM PDT up reply actions

Canseco stated before 1988 that he wanted to get 40/40. So he deliberately stole more often to pad his stats. Bonds did the same thing in .. 1996, I believe.

My question is has it been done when someone just played every day normally and ended up w/ 40/40. This is basically: did they get a lot more than 40 stolen bases or did they just pretty much stop when they got there.

Somehow little Greg always blamed the Giants for that. Maybe because of the similar color schemes?

So when I look back on this season's final big game

I will remember Edlefsen, Joaquin, Runzler and Zito all pitched in it. Bochy your picture with the world series trophy is going to be captioned with idiot savant.

I'll treasure this season's radio promos ending

There’s Freddy’s walk-off distilled like vinegar now, Miggy’s grand salami with mold growing and slimy, Torres’ Popup grand salami that turned out to only be the wrapper…
