"Yeah Joey" Winning Pitcher in Triple A Championship Game, Wins Game MVP
Joe Martinez was the winning pitcher in the 3A Championship Game in Albuquerque last night. Martinez pitched seven innings and after a rocky first inning, settled down to hold the Omaha Storm Chasers scoreless for the next six. With that performance, he was awarded the game MVP.
Links to video highlights and box score in the post link. Check the lineups. I think the Giants could have used a few of those bats last night.
Hat tip to former Giant Joe Martinez for a good finish to the 2011 season.

Good for him, but things like this almost justify what Sabean said about AA over AAA. So many players in AAA are non prospects, just in the organization as filler for the roster or in case of massive injuries to the big club. I hope Joey makes it up again too, but it’s not like he has the stuff to be successful at the major league level.
Buster Posey: still better than Eli and Stewart, even with a broken ankle.
