As you've all probably heard, Eliezer Alfonzo, whom I've been backing (and McChron-adopted) since two thousand ought five or something, has been suspended 100 games for a second positive drug test. This is the same thing Manny Ramirez retired over. Eliezer says he'll fight it and that it was a random med that tipped the test. It must be that steroid overuse runs in the family, as I have taken far too many in my lifetime as well. Even my dog is on steroids as I type this (outer ear inflammation). While I question the wisdom of Notgardo's use here, I still support him and hope he can either move past the desire to use PEDs or find a great career doing something else. I'm still proud of him for what he did for the Giants while he was here and hope nothing but the best for him. Signed, Notgardo's adoptive mama

First, I had no idea he was still playing. So there’s that.

Second, two “accidental” positives for banned substances seems entirely too coincidental for belief. It’s too bad he made the same dumb error twice.

In my experience

People who make a dumb error once are more likely to make it again than someone who has never made said dumb error.

Of course the dumb error in question is hugely more likely to be intentionally using steroids than accidentally doing so.

your ear steroids are glucocorticoids, his non allowable steroids, if that is the drug he violated is an anabolic steroid.

two completely different kinds of steroids. glucocorticoids are not banned from baseball. Anabolic steroids are. Glucocorticoids are catabolic. Anabolic steroids are by definition anabolic.

I always wondered if cousin Edgardo ever used steroids. The player the Giants had was not the player I saw with the Mets. Could he have used to get a big contract and then stopped? Or was it really the back? If Eliezer uses, you can bet it was at least discussed with his cousin.
