Logan's Freedom Ride 2011

I attended the annual Logan's Freedom Ride last night. Present were most of the Giants, some former Giants, some CSN personalities, some Sharks, Dallas Braden and -- most importantly -- the newest Bachelor, Ben Flajnik. There wasn't anything much interesting that happened. Just normal hanging out. Aaron Rowand showed up, which was kind of awkward. He hugged a lot of people. I bought a game used Nate bat and gloves at the auction. Sergio Romo took a shot with my friends. Pat Burrell might have been drunk. Jeff Keppinger wore an Affliction shirt. Shawn Estes was super nice. And, yeah, that's about it.

At one point, he was being mobbed by people and he threw up his hands and hollered, “I CAN’T BREATHE!” It was awesome.

I recognized Pill right away, but thought maybe the other guy might be Crawford after shaving. I presume you’ve seen them both (Edlefsen & Crawford) – do they at least look a little bit alike, or am I hallucinating?

Nate’s smile kills me. He was kind of shy and awkward for awhile, but he has gotten so much better. He was really sweet, especially after I told him I bought his bat and gloves. ;-)

Broadway Studios. (Broadway & Montgomery.) It was a pretty cool place — three bars, a big stage, an upstairs area they could use for a VIP area for the players to take a break from the crowd.

I was there too, wasn’t as intimate as last year (for obvious reasons) but still very interesting. Didn’t see you again this year kdl, but if I did I would definitely have said hi this time! The live auction was one of the more entertaining things to happen. MC’ed by Dallas Braden, with Romo and Panda as his Price Is Right girls. Wilson raised the bid for Lincecum’s jersey to $1900, until he was outbid by Ryane Clowe, the eventual winner. My friend gave a big hug to a nice boy in a teal button-down shirt and vest and fedora, only later realizing it was Chase Krukow. I should have assumed it was him, he was hanging out with Cole Kuiper. And Sharks fans, I’m telling you right now: Jamie Baker knows how to get cray-cray.
