It has been difficult to watch Huff hit 40 points lower than his career average and almost 60 points lower than last year. The Giants hitting coach, a .220 hitter in his day, evidently has not done a "stare and compare" with Huff's stance last year compared to this year. Huff crowds the plate much more this year than last. I went and looked at some pictures from last year versus this year and it is very apparent. I cringe when he jumps back away from the plate with pitches mildly inside. When he can extend, he is getting hits. Unfortunately he can rarely extend unless the pitch is middle-outside part of the plate. Pitchers in the Bigs know where to place their pitches and it has been quite easy for them to bust him inside. Why have the Giants been unable to see such an obvious thing and get it corrected????
