For some reason
I can never get enough of heat maps. Wrecked.

Keep an eye on my son, Jake "The Jacksonville Rifle" Dunning. From SS to the mound - exclusively toeing the rubber since March 2010.
This is interesting.
While some people like to reference Huff’s past trend of alternating good and bad seasons, to justify hanging on to him for next year, this heat map shows this year is far different than 2009. It also shows that this is basically huis worst professional season since he broke into the Majors. He’s never sucked consistently for a full season.
Good stuff.
Relief! I Thank you for your Lefferts.
To be fair
The offensive context this year is different.
"Lee pitches...Renteria hits a high drive, deep left-center field, David Murphy going back, he's on the warning track—it is...go-one!"
How would that affect his OPS?

WTF am I looking at?

I’m assuming each cell represents his cumulative OPS up to that point in the year.
Maybe it would be more informative to have each cell represent a weighted average?

Its interesting but
if it’s a “heatmap” then why does it use cool colors when he’s good and hot colors when he’s not? Totally counterintuitive if you ask me…
Context
What to consider context for last season? Look at what Huff did after Posey came into town… There is a phrase in baseball that one player, “can make the whole lineup better”. Posey. Sandoval – light. In fact, if you consider what Huff has done this year I would bet that he’s been better since Sandoval has been on his tear.
