Today is Game 113. In this 8-game stretch (losing 7 out of 8) the Giants pitching staff has a 5.15 ERA. Offense has scored 2.3 runs per game in that period.
It caught up to the Padres last season, and there's plenty of reason to believe it's catching up to this team as well.
I'm not adamant on the idea, but it makes sense despite how bad of an analyst Schilling has proven himself to be on ESPN.
