OT: Historical Twitter Accounts?

We (Mr. Merope and myself) were talking, in the car,  on the drive home from McCovey's about people we wished had Twitter accounts.

There are two people I wish had lived to participate in the Twitters:

Douglas Adams and Carl Sagan

We thought  Charles Darwin on the Beagle and maybe one of those ancient Greek philosopher types would be interesting...

I will not divulge our whole list here cuz that is what I am going to ask you.

What historical, cultural, etc etc type of person would have been an interesting Tweeter?

This FanPost is reader-generated, and it does not necessarily reflect the views of McCovey Chronicles. If the author uses filler to achieve the minimum word requirement, a moderator may edit the FanPost for his or her own amusement.

would have said “why the hell am I using a format that limits my observations to 130 characters when I could get a blog instead”.

Assurbanipal (I see your Tiglath-Pileser, and raise you) – supposedly the only Assyrian king to learn to read and write, as the last great king of the Assyrian dynasty, it would be fascinating to read how he viewed the end of his reign; Babylonia took over as the leading dynasty just 18 years after Assurbanipal’s death.

Adolph Hitler – just what was he thinking?

Jean-Jacques Rousseau – influential thinker, writer, and musician. How did he arrive at his then-cutting-edge opinions?

Bobby Kennedy – a candid inside look at Camelot by the brother who cared most deeply?

Issac Newton – “Bodies that tweet tend to stay atwitter.” #gravitysucks

I’d love to have seen two San Francisco-related tweeters: Mark Twain and Ambrose Bierce.

However, if we’re talking about 19th century tweeters, we can not go without mentioning the still-alive Twitter Account of Old Hoss Radbourn
