Plunk target: Since 2003, Aaron Rowand has been hit by pitches 116 times, trailing only Chase Utley (131) and Jason Kendall (121). Rowand doesn't mind, saying, "Your OBP goes up."

Anyone else surprised that Rowand knows what OBP is? From watching him play it doesn’t seem to be much of a priority…
Love that this team won the world series, but favorite Giants team of all time is still the '93 team.
I don’t hate him. He can be a useful (though ridiculously overpaid) player if used correctly. Hate the GM for the contract, and the manager for not using him properly.
Buster Posey: Like his team, he's done for the year.

I think the poopin’ stance makes it difficult for him to get out of the way.

Adopted 'nephew' to the ever avuncular and always awesome Jon Miller
If those HBP had all been SO's
…his OBP over that period would be .305 instead of .334.

Rowand is the most plunked player ever born in Oregon.
By a wide margin – Brady Clark is 2nd among Oregonians with only 54 to Rowand’s 126.
Also, It’s interesting they quoted his HBP total and rank since 2003, because he started in 2001 and he has the 5th most if you start from there. He has the 4th most since 2002, but if they started from 2004 he’s 2nd only to Chase Utley. Same if you start in 2005. So why start in 2003? He only had 3 HBPs that year. 2004 was the first year he cracked double figures. These are the things about sports writing that I find mysterious.
