Giants Press Notes

I usually post this link once a season and after listening to what passed for broadcasting tonight on ESPN it occurred to me that I hadn't posted it yet this season.  (With these notes maybe the ESPN announcers could have actually talked a little bit about the players in the game they were watching.)  Anyway, via this URL you can access the MLB press notes for every team, for every game.

MLB Press Pass

It's fun to read the notes and then listen to Kruk, Kuip, Jon, and Dave.  A lot of their interesting little tidbits come from the press notes.

Thanks for the reminder. I always forget these are available. They’re great little tools to have around.

that's cool....

i think we need some kind of a Google Docs online spreadsheet thing for the minor leaguers that scrapes milb for stats and lists players age as in “22.35” format(updated automatically), year and rd drafted, etc etc and then all the stats on one line and then perhaps a section that is sorted and updated in terms of our best 20-30 prospects(with these stat lines) by our experts like Fla-Giant, Roger, Gobroks, etc….

most of the stat sites don’t really have the best format…would be cool if you could see all the data on one screen….

As for ESPN

Were they watching the game? They were terrible.

How else would they notice the SHADOWS?

Them shadows was very compelling, esp to Valentine. Notice that every time you see them in the booth, Dan Shulman is rolling his eyes and/or looking like he wants to climb under the table.

i have to write those for various teams at Saint Mary’s…they are brutal by the end of the year.

Now I see why some of these odd things are constantly said during broadcasts.

thanks

didn’t know about these.

I love “undeafted.” New word for the Giants’ brand of weird baseball.

Thanks for the link Merope

RE: The Sunday Night Baseball crew. Schulman gets a pass as an announcer. He is at least a professsional. I am quickly losing any level of tolerance I had for Hershier. His pontification and clearly voiced bias against the Giants is grating on me. The only positive comment I can make about Valentine has to do with a fake mustache and sunglasses.

I'm a Giants Fan, but I'll always be rooting for Matt Downs

yeah, excellent stuff….they’ve been putting these out for 4-5 years at least but for some reason they don’t publicize it much…should be right next to gameday etc options imo….

Thanks Merope. I forgot about these.

I don’t know how many times yesterday the kid and I said “I wonder what K & K would have said about that”?
