wow, tickets are expensive

I know most of you live in the area and are used to this, but I moved away and only make it back once a year or so. We're coming into town in a few weeks and I wanted to take my son to a game and I was searching stubhub for tickets and the standing room only is 50 bucks. Sweet Jesus, that's expensive. I feel like an old fart remembering going to the Stick and sitting in the $5 no beer right field seats in the early 90s. I can't imagine that it's easy for high school age kids to get into the games with these kinds of ticket prices. I can't imagine that the concessions are cheap, either.

Ah well, I am just getting old I suppose.

I know we got our tickets through the Giants website…but then again, now that I think of it… we bought them back in December!

it was half that last year

i took the year off to follow the giants full time…thought about doing it again this year but the prices are too high…and nothing will ever beat last year…

If I recall correctly SRO was $35 [directly from the Giants] during the playoffs.

IIRC, the Commissioner's office sets postseason ticket price.

Major League Baseball sets the individual ticket prices for the World Series. They break down the range that prices are set by section… Infield Box, Terrace/Mezzanine Seating, General Admission, Bleachers, Standing Room Only, other premium level seating… all of it, with suites the exception are set by the league to allow cost certainty for all the parties looking to get a cut of the gate. From there, each club provides a seating diagram that allows them to "scale the house" accordingly.

I was looking at StubHub last night and it was ~$25 for the bleachers. I seem to have trouble with StubHub right now, but it looks like the Giants-Phillies games are starting from like $25-$35, holy moly.
