Tim Lincecum is already at 2 WAR, with a little more than 1/5 of the season in the bag. Barry Zito's full healthy season upside, secured already by our ace.

Awesome.

Also, amazing to see how close he is to his previous Cy Young form right now. His numbers are all nearly identical.

BETTER, I think, in a lot of ways

Best K/9 and GB% of his career is corresponding to the best FIP and xFIP that he’s ever had. If he keeps this up, it will be the best season of his career.

It makes sense, too. This is the year he’s been able to combine the velocity of his early days with the smarts/finesse/enhanced other stuff of his more recent tenure as a Giant. It’s amazing, when he pitches.

Halladay has been worth nearly 3 WAR so far (2.9). That’s nuts

from 2008-present time

By WAR halladay wins, but Lincecum wins by FIP. Halladay gets more innings so he has an extra edge, but on a per inning basis, Lincecum is better. It really depends how you define skill and ability. Both pitchers, along with Cliff Lee are the class of the MLB though. No doubt about it.

I like that Tim Lincecum is good at throwing a baseball for the San Francisco Giants.

I love the fact that it’s our ace makes it easy to love him unconditionally.

while i am happy for timmy and think this is awesome,

WAR for pitchers doesn’t exactly mean much.

Halladay is having another incredible season too. Its perfectly keeps Timmy out of the spotlight while he makes hitters look foolish. As long as all the national media attention is on the Phillies, the Giants pitchers can quietly dominate for their fans.

No one here gets out alive.

I'm loving the GB%

Timmy is looking more and more like a guy you just cannot let go. It’s hard to imagine being able to win without him. And really, I’d be okay with losing if it meant we could hang onto him.

Pablo

was pretty close to 2.0 WAR before he went down. He’s currently at 1.6 and is the best defensive third baseman in baseball.

Timmy having 2.0 WAR so far isn’t as surprising.
