Giants fans aren't very "Die Hard"
According to this index, the Giants rank among the lowest in terms of fan "die-hardness." Warning: East Coast bias within.

Aside from the attendance, which is one factor out of five (# of home games are fixed at 81), none of this has to do with fans
This should not be called “fan die hard index.”. This should be called “city suckness index”
Obviously any links in the above post are probably NSFW

Yeah, SF’s average income is way higher than almost any other NL city. That’s probably what is driving our DHI down.

What I thihnk he's trying to capture is
how much do you endure to see your team?
Losses, high prices, and cost as a percentage of income.
Had he included weather, we might have fared better
"Do you smell that Kenny? That's hard news. Notice the lack of fornicating horses."
Maybe if he had included cost of living. People make more in the Bay Area, but I don’t think their disposable incomes is really that much higher. It costs twice as much to live in San Francisco as an average city (and some of these cities aren’t even average, particularly some of the more rural midwest cities where real estate is cheap).

People here remember 06-08
The giants have had some almost laughably bad offenses recently, and many of us know that because a lot of watch almost all the games. Everyone here is pretty die hard, and that’s a lot of people.
I remember Johnny LeMaster.
How can Washington be on the list? They’ve hardly been born let alone had a chance to “die hard”. The income factors are a bit out of place – it’s far more telling to compare attendance during lean years (wins wise) to years when the team plays better. Another would be to compare paid attendance to actual attendance after the 7th inning, if that were in any way possible.
