It isn't the .590 OPS or even how nervous he makes me on any ball hit to the edge of his range (although those things certainly don't help)...it's two other things, one of which might mean something, the other of which is very subjective, admittedly.
- He's currently seeing under 3 p/pa at 2.97. Small sample size, yes, but...I don't exactly see Tejada becoming more patient at the plate with his numbers as bad as they are. Don't be in such a hurry to get the at-bat over with, Miggy. And this one leads to...
- The histrionics. They're not happening after every at-bat, but I think I've seen enough of the combination of pleading with the ump, snatching off/throwing his helmet, etc. We get it, Miggy...those weak grounders to SS/2B aren't what you wanted to happen. You don't have to prove to us you care.
I realize I'm quibbling -- it's not only doubtful Miggy is quite this bad, but it's also still early. But I guess I'm frustrated with Miggy, and then seeing him seemingly so often visibly frustrated with himself just frustrates me even more. I hope he breaks out soon, because I might go on IR for fractured sockets from rolling my eyes so much.
