There are enough off-days that they don’t need a 5th starter until the 11th.

Hope he’s ok.

But why did I make the mistake of reading some of the comments? The “winner” is this choice nugget from “villalonamvp” (with a pic of Angel in his bulletproof vest):

Losing your No. 2 starter on the eve of the season opener is truly worrisome! We can only hope the Sabester still has Suppan’s phone number!

I came, I saw, I told bad jokes and left.

Yikes!

Hopefully this isnt a sign of things to come for Zito’s 2011 season :p

Glad Zito wasn't seriously hurt

Although, as Kuip pointed out on the radio this morning, he won’t know until today or tomorrow whether the collision did any physical damage that would affect his ability to pitch in the short- or long-term. And at the very least, he’s probably feeling pretty rattled.

“at the very least, he’s probably feeling pretty rattled.”

Which usually doesn’t happen until after he’s faced a couple of batters.

I saw the accident

I was driving home from work last night and saw the accident. I saw a silver Caddy pretty messed up, but only on the back-righthand side. The car that caused the accident was already towed away. I see plenty accidents in LA and I just thought it was a gnarly little accident, but nothing horrible.

I wake up this morning to read that Barry Zito got into an accident. At first, I was just hoping he was ok. After I read that he was fine, I read that the accident he was involved in was the same one I witnessed last night.

Small world.

Maybe he injured his arm, forcing him to throw a different way which will cause him to magically gain 10 MPH on his fastball!
