Life in SF Giants Minor League Camp
We kvetch enough about lousy ST coverage ("best shape of his life!" "just getting my work in"). I'd prefer that this had spent less time with Bochy's kid, but it was a good piece.
In fact I think it would be interesting to have a sidebar daily or weekly with some interesting story from minor league camp.

Kind of an interesting side piece to all this that I learned through a friend who is now a prospect in the Giants organization (some of you probably know who I am talking about already), but the English speaking players are required to take four weeks worth of 2-hour long Spanish classes. Granted, that’s only a total of 8 hours in the classroom, it still caught my attention.
I will let everyone know if I am informed of any other irrelevant bits and pieces in the future if people are interested.
Actually that’s not irrelevant at all, I think it might explain how the Giants seem to have developed teams without rifts between Latin and American-born players. And guys like Romo and Lopez don’t hurt either.
May 29, 2010: Steven Revetria becomes Giants General Manager. The rest is history.
