Fighting the Urge to Care About Spring Training Records

So the Giants are 14-4 in the Cactus League and have the best winning percentage in all of baseball. The starting pitching looks good, Wilson looks good, Panda looks good, Belt looks good, and Andres Torres is trying to show us that we should count on the new Andres Torres showing up ad infinitum.

So the Giants are 14-4. They finished last season with an 11-4 run against top competition and that was the caboose to a 44-29 second half. That's a 69-37 record when you add it all up. Sure it doesn't mean much except for that 11-4 stretch in October that finished on the first day of November. TGWTWS. But as a Giant fan, I sure have gotten used to this "winning." It is a strange feeling.

So, I know Spring Training records have no correlation with regular season success, but I am beginning to expect W's when I check box scores.

What can I do to help temper my expectations, McCoven?
