Around SBN: Indy 500: Coverage of the 'Greatest Spectacle In Racing'

This is a pretty solid episode of radio lab explaining stochastic statistics. It also goes in to how bad people are at judging randomness.

I take the physics approach to calculating statistics which is, Simulate It! These Monte-Carlo methods are based on calculating likelihoods based on randomly simulating strings of non-deterministic (stochastic!) events. This is the basis for all baseball simulations, and I feel like this episode serves as a pretty interesting primer on the subject.

Great link

I listened to this a while back, but I’m glad to do it again. Good for any randomly-minded person.

Stochasticity

I think that was the original title to the big hit 1980s single by The Police. Just another example of how pop culture is being continually dumbed down.
