Community Prospect List #44 Runoff
So, a runoff to end it. This has been a lot of fun and I'll have the final prospect list up either Sunday night or Monday morning. Here are your options:
Each player should have a link to Baseball Cube in their first name and a link to FanGraphs in their last name, unless one wasn't available. The poll will close Sunday night, since I got this up a bit later today (hooray midday naps!).

Marcello, thanks for working your ass off. Nice job man. I really enjoyed the debate and questons in these posts. It couldn’t have happened with out your hard work.
I'm a Giants Fan, but I'll always be rooting for Matt Downs
Where is Dan Burkhart going to play ?
Good stuff
Way to keep it moving along at a good pace Marcello!

Allen
I’ll take the young power arm over an older 1B/LF

That's the great thing about Allen - he's both!
He’s a power arm with big upside, and an older 1B/LF who has infiltrated the D’Backs roster as a spy and could end up making their major league team this year. As SA Ned has proven over and over again, you can never have too many double agents.

Great name aside, there is no way Windster belongs on this list – and I’m proud to say my vote just broke the tie in favor of an actual legit prospect – if you can say that about anyone this far down on the list…

Allen is legit - remember BBelt circa March 2010
I don’t think that Belt was in hardly anybody’s top 44 at this time last year.
Bold predicition: Allen will be the biggest mover on next year’s CPL (although I’ll hedge my bet a bit and say that he might come in #2 to Caleb Hougesen).

Neither of those will be in my top 5 biggest jumpers. But I’ll hold off on that until the inevitable wrap up Fanpost.
MY DAD WAS WRONG!
MY BOY NEEDS TO THROW HARDER!
Only one way to decide it
Steel cage death match, just sayin.
In case you're wondering, I'm working out and plan to be in the best shape of my life come spring.
Ok, I know it’s prospect #44 and all, but I really need somebody who’s voting for Windster to explain their thought process, here, without talking about how awesome they think his name is. He’s been getting votes for a while now, and I don’t think I’m seen a single comment in all this time, talking up his game or his potential.
MY DAD WAS WRONG!
MY BOY NEEDS TO THROW HARDER!
Didn't vote for him, but I considered it
.311/.416/.594 looks really nice, and at 21 he wasn’t obscenely old for the league. He had a lot of doubles, so his BABIP wasn’t all luck, and although he mostly played 1st, he played some center in 09, so maybe it was to due to the roster.
On the flip side, he still struck out way too much, will be limited to the corners if he fills out, and he repeated the level, which makes his age look way worse. The last point is what makes him a non-prospect in my eyes. He’ll have to make constant progress just to reach AA by 25.
Note the lack of a hyphen.
and at 21 he wasn’t obscenely old for the league
Yes. Yes he was. This is a league for which 19 is old, if you’re not just passing through, and 18 isn’t young. And having repeated a complex league at any age is about as bold a red flag as a prospect could have. I would be willing to guess that there’s never been a major league player who repeated a complex league in his 20s.

Mostly this
He had a nice walk rate to mitigate the high K rate too. Despite the .384 BABIP, a .450 wOBA is damned good, and makes me think he could put up a .330 wOBA in San Jose, which would look a lot better in the age-relative-to-league part.
Allen’s K rate and age are nice, but he has serious issues with walks, only has 5 2/3 professional innings, and was an 18th round pick. Neither one is a good prospect IMO, but I’ll go with Windster doing something even if he was ridiculously old for his league over Allen’s issues both in on-field production and draft pedigree. I know Fla-Giant is high on him, and maybe he’s a lot more impressive than what he’s done, but at this point I can’t vote for someone who the Giants didn’t think was worth it until the 18th round and who hasn’t done much to change that (or much, period).
