I wish you’d just call it for Escobar now. Seems like I’ve been voting for him for weeks.

So much this

I don’t know what I’m going to do when he’s off the list, I’ll actually have to think about who I’m going to vote for.

In case you're wondering, I'm working out and plan to be in the best shape of my life come spring.

Exactly

Hector Sanchez: Underrated. Fighting body bias since the 2009 off season. I still love you, son, even if you're fat.

Wish granted

Juan "Doesn't Cheat The Game" Perez, future CF for the World Champion San Francisco Giants.

It’s lonely on the Westcott bandwagon. You’ll all look pretty bad when he replaces an injured Jonathan Sanchez during the pennant run this September, though.

Why Westcott? He was a 30th round pick, he’s about to turn 25, and there’s nothing in his stats that says prospect. I guess the K rate was nice at Salem-Keizer, but that went away in a hurry when he got promoted.

Irrational love is a many-splendored thing. And this seems like the right area for that sort of thing.

You're not alone

Going with Westcott here as well, since guys don’t go from being drafted to AA in less than a year unless the organization sees something in them, and since this is an organization that knows its pitching, I’m guessing he has some sort of future…

Going with my boy Quinowski. I’m anticipating a good season, been moving steadily and performing well.

Adopted father of Brian Bocock, Brad Boyer, Sharlon Schoop, Shane Jordan, Jeremiah Luster,Trey Webb,David Quinowski, and Jeff Arnold.

steadily? not really, with a year off in 2008, followed by drop down to low A. But moving again.
I was stoked about Q before that surgery, so voting for him again..

How can you not vote for Sundrendy?

Plus Windster. One of the greatest baseball names ever! Plus, you know, maybe he’s good.

Fulfilling your Gus Benusa needs since 2009!

Year off due to Tommy John and low A as a rehab. Got to Richmond last year, we’ll see how it goes but having success at all levels since surgery. Hence, moving steadily.

I voted Chris Loften

Showed promise for a guy who wasn’t supposed to hit.

My prediction; #41is where Culberson is rated next year

Seems high. I say Adrianza’s here after he moves to the EL and has an OPS of four. Culberson doesn’t make the list.

Ain't no Posey like a Buster Posey cause a Buster Posey don't stop...hitting.

Wasn't supposed to hit?

Where’d you hear that? If he wasn’t supposed to hit the Giants wouldn’t have drafted him in the 9th round.

Perhaps he's referring to BA's draft report card quote?
Brown stands out, but OF Chris Lofton (9) also merits mention. He also hit .268/.350/.343 with 15 stolen bases for short-season Salem-Keizer, a pleasant surprise considering he hit just .331 with one homer at the Division II juco level

From what I saw Lofton is a ++ defender, not overly exciting with the bat. He was missed after he injured himself diving for a ball in center.

That's good-I know he had a football scholarship as a CB so he should be a solid defender

If he can play solid D, hit for a decent avg and get on base at a solid clip he could be a useful 4th OF

Hmm…Dogging Culberson seems like a bold move from a guy promoting a starting role for Schierholtz.

by Roger on Feb 23, 2011 2:52 PM PST up reply actions

I admit

I am an unabashed Schierholtz fan, but the name stemmed from the 2009 season while Randy Winn was still starting everyday and Nate and Bowker were sitting on the bench.
I"ve never really felt the need to change it, if for no other reason then as reminder that I don’t really know anything.

That said, I don’t dislike Culberson, just shocked that he’s been rated so high by so many people(not just McC)
