This was something I did a couple of years ago but didn't have time for last year. I know this comes late, but I think it's still worth doing.
Dear friends, acquiantances, and Grant,
It's been a busy and lively year in thehavenot household. The first thing that we want to tell you about is that our household got bigger. Our 3rd child, a beautiful baby girl, was born in June. She is extremely cute, very active, and an all-around joy in our household. We are very happy to have her in our family.
We don't want to forget about our other two children. Our oldest just turned 10! She will never again have a single digit age. She also played a role in her first play this year, playing a decent part in a truly horrible play about Vallejo. She did well, though! She is currently playing a significant role as "Kathy Cratchett" in Scrooge. Our middle child also is playing a role in Scrooge as "Little Ebeneezer". They are both really enjoying their time in the play. Our oldest is now in the fourth grade and our middle child is now in the second grade and they are both doing well.
The quest to better our lives has continued this year. Mrs. thehavenot is close to transferring. She applied to Sonoma State and plans on starting there next semester. Her quest to make our family a two teacher household is on schedule. As for me, I was transferred to one of the high schools in Vallejo since the school I was at closed this year. It is truly a blessing because I prefer teaching older students compared with the Middle School students I was teaching. I have truly enjoyed this year more than years past. At the same time this year has been challenging because I have two classes I have never taught and I was not told what I was teaching until the day before school. So I have been working very hard. In addition, I have started my second job again. So between working 50-60 hours a week, a new baby, two other kids, and the need for rest, I haven't spent much time with my MCC friends. Know that I think of many of you as friends, even if we have barely met or even never met. But know that I am happy with my family, my job, and my life in general. I'd just like to be working less.
Sincerely wishing you a happy Holidays,
