Any good podcast recommendations?

I've recently been listening to more and more podcasts as of late, so I was wondering if the McCoven have any favorites they would like to share? First I'd like to hear suggestions on favorite baseball podcasts, but all types are welcome! I was recently recommended "My Brother, My Brother, and Me" and I think it is the type of humor that most of the members here would love. Enjoy!

MBMBAM is awesome.

I listen to a lot of video game podcasts. Don’t know if you’re interested in those, but my favorites are Giant Bomb and Retronauts. The Geekbox is also gaming related but touches on other geeky stuff as well. The Bugle is a good one. It consists of British comedians Andy Salzman and John Oliver (of Daily Show fame) talking about current events and making fun of them.

I have heard good things about Giant Bomb I might have to check it out. A few years back I used to listen to 1up Yours and it was videogame gold, I started listening to Weekend Confirmed simply because Garnett Lee (former host of 1up) is one of the hosts.

If you like 1Up Yours, check out Games Dammit, which is more or less the successor to it. Also Player One Podcast and 8-4 Play, which is comprised of former EGM/1UP employees. 8-4 in particular focuses a lot on the Japanese games industry since the 8-4 people do localization and translation for them.

WTF with Marc Maron. In-depth interviews with comedians mixed with Maron’s painful honesty about his various neuroses.

MY EMPIRE IS CRUMBLING

I’m here to kick ass and drink sweet tea, and dammit, I’m all out of sweet tea.

I’m a big fan of the All Songs Considered podcast (as well as all their concerts). And in fact, the NPR music app has become pretty indispensible to me. I’m listening to music on it right now, as a matter of fact (early listen to the new Los Campesinos! album, and I suspect I’ll follow that with the REM retrospetive).

I also really like the National Gallery of Arts classical music podcasts (well, really they’re just recorded concerts at the museum, but they get amazing talent in there).

Joe Rogan and TED

Joe Rogan will overdo some topics a little too much, and it definitely requires headphones at work, but hilarious and interesting. Not for everyone though considering the MMA talk, weed, psychedelic talk, and language.

TED has its good and bad speakers, but always good for brain gymnastics.
