(Sort of) OT: So this Tweeter thing...

After thinking I'd never do it, I joined Twitter yesteday.  So now comes the question, who should I follow?

For me, it'll probably be just about baseball and stuff/thougts that I think are amusing/funny.

I added Grant, Baggs, Schulman, Keith Law, Sergio Romo and Daniel Tosh.

Who else do you suggest?  Doesn't Panda have an account?  What about Old Hoss something or other?  Any other McC?

I’ve heard that Rxmeister28 is a interesting guy to follow. He doesn’t tweet that often, but that’s because he has less followers than Michelle Bachman.

Buster Posey: still better than Eli and Stewart, even with a broken ankle.

For the most part, I follow colleagues and personal friends, news sites and weather folks. My own Twitter feed has almost nothing to do with crafting social media-based journalism. It’s mainly gushing about guys and re-tweeting Al Roker.

I would NOT follow Keith Law

Unless you want a lot of whining and bitching and talking about food.

If you want that, just come to McC and get it for free…er. Freeer. Yea.

Definitely follow Old Hoss. Also:
Andy Baggarly
Henry Schulman
Jayson Stark

On a non-baseball topic, try out RealTimeWWII, a guy who’s retweeting all of World War II in live time over the next few years. Pretty amazing.

I do recommend a certain webcomic about the Giants and their fans… but that’s just me self-promoting so ignore if you want.

I still follow Eric Surkamp and Garrett Broshius

I also follow SETI, StarDate, and Homer Simpson

What I did was see who other people: Mr. Merope, my sister, Yosemite Park [that’s a good one to follow if you go to Yosemite a lot] follow and add whoever I’m interested in.

I use mine as more of a news reader sorta thing.

Gary Brown and Garrette Buechele are funny, but, hands-down, the most fascinating Giant to follow is Shawn Payne. Not only is he a prolific (and hyper) tweeter, but he level of his political UNcorrectness can be stunning at times.

That’s nothing. You should check out the facebook pages of the Giants’ young Caribbean prospects. First off, you’d be surprised how many of these (often dirt-poor) teenagers actually have a facebook account. The vast majority of them probably only have internet access a few times a month, but they do have a facebook account. Then, when you dig deeper, you see that they have upwards of 1,000 “friends” – 95% of whom appear to be Caribbean girls trolling for a boyfriend/husband.
